Lucien Schweitzer Galerie et éditions is pleased to present « Memphis Backstage », an exhibition in collaboration with Memphis Milano, curated by Aldo Cibic and with the remarkable contribution of Nathalie Du Pasquier.

Thirty years after the birth of the famous group, Lucien Schweitzer shows a totally new perspective of what Memphis has been in the eightees, in his exhibition space in Luxembourg. Through the eyes of Aldo Cibic, the public will have the opportunity to discover the background stories which made this moment so thrilling and exceptional. « E very visitor of the exhibition should go home with a gift. » says Aldo Cibic who has been invited by Lucien Schweitzer and Alberto Bianchi Albrici to give his personal and self - critical point of view of the Memphis moment. Over more than 200 sqm of exhibition space, the public will be guided through the emblematic pieces, accompanied by historical facts, stories and descriptive notes about materia, color and form. Facts, but above all individual perceptions should feed the heart of every visitor.

This unique exhibition will lead to the edition of the « Memphis Backstage » book, a coproduction of Lucien Schweitzer Galerie et éditions, Aldo Cibic and Memphis Milano. The book presentation will take place in Luxembourg after the conference held by Aldo Cibic at the Banque de Luxembourg on 1 July and in Milan at the gallery Post Design on 8 July 2010.

« Nous avons réalisé des objets concrets
pour exprimer des idées abstraites... et ils
ont tous fini dans des galeries d'art. »
